Spike ending up happy and appreciated by someone else?

Sometimes I find myself with serious anger issues towards Buffy and some of the Scoobies in regards to the way they treat Spike in Season 6 and Season 7.  (What does a guy have to do to get a little sugar??) When I get especially vindictive I imagine him starting over with someone new, someone who sees him as a champion from the start, someone who never considered him beneath her (or him).

Can anyone recommend any fics like this?  I don't mind pairings with other Jossverse characters (like Anya, Tara, etc.) but I'm especially interested in a fic in which the author pairs him with an original character of their own devising.  Bonus points if Buffy and the Scoobs realize they were dicks.
