The first is "The Color of Devoltion" by Rikki Oko. I would like to reread it, but the author has taken it down for "reworking." Does anyone have a copy they could send me?
My second search is for a story in which Spike has shanshued and happens to be living in the same city as Buffy and Dawn. Buffy has lost her Slayer powers post Chosen. She catches sight of Spike and tries to get closer to him again, but he isn't having any of it. Buffy enlists Dawn to convince Spike that they won't give up on him being a part of their lives. Before Spike relents, Buffy and Dawn are in a car accident. Spike gives up his shanshu in return for Buffy becoming the Slayer again so that she can heal her injuries. Oh, and Spike has a dog, in case that jogs anyone's memory.
