Looking for a fic I read a while back, I think on Twisting the Hellmouth but now I can't find it there.
It was pre-Buffy, Xander was Hermione Granger's cousin. His parents sent him to her family for the summer but ended up moving away without telling Xander. The Granger's were kind of horrified and I think they were discussing either adopting Xander or just not sending him back. I remember that at one point, the Granger's went skiing and I think Xander had magic maybe?
