Time Travel or AU fic
Dec. 22nd, 2011 09:35 amI'm searching for a fic that has a little age on it at this point...
It's been a couple of years since I read it so I don't remember a whole lot about it, but it's a time travel or alternate reality story in which Spike and Buffy are sent back in time or to some other world (I'm thinking now it must be some other world because I don't remember Spike having a sun allergy...) where they live for quite a while. They assimilate with the local culture and Spike becomes a blacksmith(?) and fashions a sword(?) for Buffy.
They don't fall for each other right away. As a matter of fact, if memory serves, it's not until Spike goes off with the other men of the village to fight(?) something that Buffy really realizes how she feels.
As usual, when they get back to the real world they discover that far less time has passed so the Scoobies don't understand her change in relationship with Spike at all.
So that makes me think it must be set in Season 4 or 5. I know I couldn't vague it up anymore if I tried, but hopefully that'll sound familiar to somebody. I'd really like to read this story again!
