Watching the past

Spike and Buffy are in his mind or somehow watching events of Spike/William's past. The last event they watch is his parent's house burning and William not running in to save his father. William didn't want to save him because his father was not a nice guy. I think William might have walked in on his father messing around with another woman, perhaps a maid.
