I really wanted to remember one fic I read a while ago! I had it on my hard drive and this damn thing crashed again!
Its about Buffy being a lawyer and Spike a private investigator I think. He studied law too but quit because he didn't wanted to become a lawyer. Back than he and Buffy were in a relationship and now hes being held responsible for murder he didn't commit. Buffy is helping him and the last thing I remember is Buffy having a cat named Angel (hopefully its really a part of this story and not another one :) )
