I took liberty to re-post request from SR made by smokey56 cause by description I would really love to read that fic too and there are hardly any suggestion so far.

Spike leaves after Dead Things and Buffy runs off to LA again and gets turned. Spike is working at a club and dating the boss's daughter. Buffy stumbles into the club and they want Spike to take care of disposing of her. He doesn't know that it is Buffy until he sees her and tries to help her. He takes her to his place and tells her she can shower and stay during the day but that then she has to leave. His girlfriend shows up and he has sex with her with Buffy trapped in the bathroom, next door. The boss comes after them and he kidnaps Dawn thinking that she is the slayer and locks her up with Buffy trying to get her to kill her. Does anyone know these?

That is a very good story, but not the one . In this story Spike leaves Sunnydale and goes to work for a club owner who has his chip removed . He is also involved with the man's daughter.I think he left after Dead Things. Years later, when Dawn is in college and everyone else is busy with thier lives Buffy moves to LA.She gets a job and still patrols.She loses a fight to a vamp and gets turned, but doesn't know until she wanders into the club that Spike works at and a man buys her a drink and she winds up in the alley with the man trying to rape her and she kills him.The club owner tells Spike to deal with it and that is when he sees that the vamp is Buffy.He doesn't want to become invoved with her in any way again but he can't turn his back on her completely. He has her stashed in the bathroom at his apartment when his girlfriend shows up and they have sex with Buffy in the very next room.He makes his girlfriend mad when he calls her by Buffy's name. Her father and his hired muscle show up and try to kill them both and they run.They wind up in Sunnydale and the boss captures Dawn thinking that she is the slayer and Spike and Buffy go to save her and get captured. He locks Buffy in a cell with Dawn thinking she will kill her because of the bloodlust and it will break her and he can chip Spike and Buffy and make them do whatever he wants. Can't tell it all,it would spoil the ending. Anybody know this one?

well it very much it... man tried to rape Buffy. his girlfriend maddened by spike calling Buffy's name during sex. And about buffy and dawn in same cell... try the story I just finished things yo descrieb tehy are all there!!!

Have you read the story? Because it sounds like it is the one. Maybe you're mixing two stories? This one is way so similar to the one you describe:

What doesn't fit is:
(Buffy moves to LA).
(She gets a job and still patrols. She loses a fight to a vamp and gets turned) Not a fight, she slept with one because Spike is gone.

What fits:
- In this story Spike leaves Sunnydale and goes to work for a club owner
(who has his chip removed) = got the chip modified - same thing.
- He is also involved with the man's daughter.
- he left after Dead Things.
- and everyone else is busy with their lives
- Years later Dawn is in college
- but doesn't know = doesn't believe it (to be a vamp).
- until she wanders into the club that Spike works at and a man buys her a drink and she winds up in the alley with the man trying to rape her and she kills him.
- The club owner tells Spike to deal with it and that is when he sees that the vamp is Buffy.
- He doesn't want to become involved with her in any way again but he can't turn his back on her completely. He has her stashed in the bathroom at his apartment when his girlfriend shows up and they have sex with Buffy in the very next room. He makes his girlfriend mad when he calls her by Buffy's name.

*edit* I just read that story now and I've checked your points while reading, saw the link at TSR Board and it's a story I wanted to read for a long time now.

I read it late last night and everything described there in the details given is there! I think I got nausea just reading about him having sex with his girlfriend while Buffy was there...Ewww. This writer has Buffy down to a t and dotted i. She takes a while to get to the part where Buffy learns to except what she is and even more learns to let her walls down when it came to love but still has that air of bitch to her. What I didn't understand too much about it was the timeline. Did sassangel change everything from Dead Things on? Uh, because, if she did then she would have to go back even further and have changed that a certain vamp wasn't dusted when he had been dusted in early, very early, Season 5. That's the only thing I had a problem with, with this story. Other than that great story showing how similar Buffy was to Spike in how they were both soulless. Just my take on it.

The short of it smokey56 it very much is. The details are amazingly accurate in this story.

I am sorry! I had this story confused with another one that I have been looking for. I've had 2 of my grandchildren at my house for the last week due to there mother having surgery and I'm frazzled. Sorry again cordykitten and luzha. Thanks.

No prob - easy to happen and then you search and search and find nothing. I had fun catching up with old stories with the archives being so slow.

Looking back over the fics still being looked for and ones that are lost causes or Cold Cases in this case...This one does sound very similar to one that was almost like this one. I can see why the mistake was made! I too, remember another story featuring this type of scene where Buffy was in another room listening to Spike have sex with someone else...And yes her name was Stacey and yes they had to go and find Dawn. I saw this in a listing at TSR and I remember reading it awhile back soooo I posted it as another one to find. If I have to I will go through each and ever story through SA because I think I saw it there. I remember feeling ugh when Spike did that to Buffy...but I didn't blame him either. I think she was still rather bossy and bitchy meanwhile he had changed considerably. She thought she was still the center of his world when no he became his own person...Not sure if she was eventually turned but I remember this one have a biting claim to it or something...So you were quite right to question! Cuz now I'm questioning because the two are similar quite a bit except one is based after NFA whereas this one was based in Season 6.
