My turn to look for a fic - needless to say (for anybody who knows me) I have no idea what the title might be or who wrote it, but I can describe the story in great detail. I read it some time ago and lost track of it before it was completed. I would like to find it again and see if it has been finished. In the very beginning of the story, Spike and Buffy are a couple - have been for a while apparently and everyone is OK with it. The are fooling around while driving and have a wreck; I believe Spike saves Buffy's life by putting himself between her and the windshield, but I could be shakey on that part. Any way, he ends up in a coma and remains like that for a long time. Buffy is, of course, devoted and faithful at first but as time goes on and there is no change, everyone goes on with their lives. Spike regains consciousness eventually and there is a big celebration - Buffy's reaction upon walking into the room is to burst into tears. Long story short, she has fallen in love with and married his former physical therapist (named Chris, I think). Much angst, very sad Spike (for him, it's only been a night's snooze since they were together). Spike is bonding with his new PT, an African-American guy and actually ogling nurses in spite of his heartache...Spike and new friend (Henry?) are drinking on the roof of the hospital at night and discussing his situation. That's as far as I got. Anyone know what,where, by whom it is?
