Good or Evil

The gang is told that someone is creating an imbalance in the world by sitting on the fence between darkness and light. That person must soon decide which side they are on. Everyone thinks it might be Faith or Angel (I think). But it is really Spike and he is told he must chose between being on the side of good or the side of evil. He is told that if he chooses evil, then demons will rule the earth, if he chooses good, then all demons will disappear. Whistler cautions him to carefull think about it. If he chooses good, even though Buffy could rest, he realizes he himself will be dust.

Boy do I feel stupid. I found the fic that I was looking for and I had remembered very little of the story correctly. Out of my summary, the only thing I got right was that Spike is suppose to chose between good and evil. There is no Faith and no Whistler. It is amazing that I was able to find it given what I was going on.

Anyway, the story is "To Make Much of Time" by Sangga and is the sequel to "Black the Sun"
