I have been looking for a fiction set in an AU series 6. Spike works in the morgue of the Sunnydale hospital, he is a friend of the DR there he met while dusting a vamp during the time he had to take Dawn to get her broken arm fixed. Faith returns and Spike and she become friends then something more there is a friendship with Wes and Fred and they go out to a club thats older than the Bronze.At one point dealing with the three nerds Spike is shot and his Dr friend comes to the house to help and Spike changes into his scrubs after treatment much to Xanders amusement. Dawn and Spike have a much truer relationship in this story than the original series.Giles returns and finds out about Buffy and Spike but is ok, there is a return of a shady version of the initative and Spike is grabbed and taken to LA where Ethan has Dru and Darla trapped as part of a Spell which dusts them after long slow pain, Spike is part of the spell but holds on. Faith and the others plus some rouge watchers save him and he is taken to Angels where he dreams that the PTBs send a messenger to speak to him. That is where the story seemed to dissapear from the Crypt I am yearning to read the rest if there is more and if not just to re-read. The characters and plot where wonderfully realized.

I don't remember the title of the story, but it was by ComedyofErrors and was never finished. I, too, was following the story religiously and was really disappointed when it was removed from the Crypt with no explanation. I sent an email to the writer and never got a reply.

Thank you! I used a mix of google and wayback to find the story, she purged everything after July 2005. I hope all is well with her and am just grateful for the Fiction I've found.
Thank you again I couldn't have found her with out your help. Wayback the Crypt then July 2005 look for Life's what happens when you're making other plans. It's up to chapter 22.

There should be over 40 chapters which you must have found since the events you describe above were near the end.

The others are right. I beta'd it. She didn't finish it but there was some description of the planned ending. Maybe it was just on her live journal.

And yeah, it was a great story. I love good Spaith. I especially loved the first chapters, and especially the scene where Spike staked that vamp. It was so Matrixy.
