Looking for fic, 'cause ain't we all?
Mar. 27th, 2007 07:20 pmHi all -
I am almost positive I read this fic on the Vampire's Kiss archive, but 'swelp me if I can find it there now.
Because I foolishly believed I'd be able to find it again easily, I didn't jot down the name of the fic or the author. However, the fic itself was very memorable, at least to me.
The fic takes place in Season 7, during and post "Get It Done." Buffy goes through the portal to the Shadow Men and rejects their "gift". But instead of showing her the Hellmouth full of UberVamps, the last Shadow Man shows her a vision of the future - everything that happens for the rest of the season, up to and including Spike dying. Our heroine doesn't deal very well with this at all; the first thing she does after returning through the portal is grab onto Spike and cry for hours. One condition of the knowledge is she can't tell anyone, but she stretches that after Giles' betrayal in "Lies My Parents Told Me" to let him know why she won't let either him or Wood dust Spike.
It's a lovely fic. If you can help me find it again, I'll be ever so grateful!
