A man wakes up in the Mojave desert with no memories and a funny amulet lying nearby. He makes it to Barstow, where he is recognized by the gal behind the ice cream shop counter as the man who came in with his sister, Dawn, and helped to fight off a motorcycle gang on PCP a couple of summers past. He sleeps on her couch and follows her advice to contact an antiques dealer, who then contacts Wesley. He ends up at W&H with an antagonistic Angel. Buffy shows up, a little angst, a little time-travel, and Bob's your uncle! It's not new, but it is finished.

I apparently remember everything about this fic except the title and the author. I thought it was "Detour" by Kindred, but nope. Please help a fic reader with issues...
