Figures I'd eventually end up here, doesn't it? With my complete inability to remember authors and titles? Anyway, someone asked about this fic elsewhere, which reminded me that I had mentioned and promised to try to find it for someone else. But I can't. There are only a few authors in the fandom (that I can think of) who are likely to have written something like this, but I can't find it on their LJ's or lists of fics. This one probably deserves a SlayMe Award if I can ever find the damn thing again.

Summary - takes place well after NFA, Buffy is married to a shanshued Angel, but making love with Spike every time he comes to visit.He is a close friend - as far as Angel knows - to both of them, and stays at their house whenever he is in town and between assignments. She's reluctant to hurt Angel, so she hurts Spike instead by refusing to leave to be with him. It's very angsty - there's no happy ending - just three people who care about each other very much caught in a sad triangle. Any ideas?

I remember that fic (and loved it), but sadly, I can't recall title or author. If it's the author I remember, s/he also was working on a fic that takes place at the very end of s5, in which Giles was absolutely convinced that he needed to kill Dawn, even though Buffy had beaten Glory without sacrificing herself.

I have a dim memory of seeing on a tag or forum that the author had taken his/her fic down due to real life issues. I'm dead certain the the fics were originally posted on the BSV and possibly VampKiss. Sorry I can't be more helpful than this...

That does help a bit, actually. At least you have some idea who wrote it! LOL Means it wasn't either of the ones I was thinking of, though. *sigh* Crossing my fingers that someone will know.
