Turning Spike

Spike has become human. He is again turned, could have been by Dru. I think he was running from her but she catches up with him on a road and turns him. He didn't want to be a vampire again and apologizes to Buffy that he is.

I have read other stories of Spike becoming human and wanting to be turned back into a vampire but in this story I definitely remember he wanted to remain human.

I haven't read "Always Wait For You" (yes, I am way behind in my reading) so it can't be that one.

I know of one Herself fic "Disenchantment" where Spike becomes a vampire again but that one isn't the one I am looking for.

I may be reaching, but there is a fic that deals with Dru capturing Spike and stealing his memories post Season 2, so he reverts to his old self, "Detour" by Kindred:

It might be "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" by cousinjean. Even though it's not Dru who tries to turn Spike again, he does try to get away.

Try looking in BS Diaries , i'm pretty sure i read a similar story there, spike is human but some creeps take him, Dawn and i think willow hostage,he somehow gets left on a road where dru and her minions were waiting and turns him again,long story shortthe bad guys want Dawn to open a portal and spike pretends to be under their control drinks Buffy's blood to close it up is this the one? U can looka t all about spike also i'm pretty sure it's there also . sorry i can't remeber title or author.

try at all about spike i know this story don't remeber name or author but know i've read it ther. Dawn kidnap story, spike is left by the kidnappers to be turned by dru so they can control him but he turns on them and saves the day by drinking i think buffys blood to close the portal but he must go through it comes back a few weeks or months later, ends with him and buffy inher kitchen talking i think.
