I am looking for a story where Spike is the one cursed because he was the one who killed the gypsy's favorite child. I don't remember anything beyond the first chapter which Spike is supposed to be watching the girl while Darla and Angel are out, but gets bored and I am assuming has himself a snack. I am assuming this  was a Spike/Buffy story. I've been watching the series again and season 2 episode Surprise made me think of this story.

Right at the moment I can only think of
Avocation by enigmaticblue (Summary: The gypsies curse the wrong vampire, and by the time they rectify their mistake, Spike has been fundamentally altered. Nearly a century later, the Slayer needs help, and there's only one person qualified for the job. Of course, he's not real interested in taking it.)
But that happened by accident, the cursing. I don't think that's the one you're looking for.

Yeah I've actually been reading that story, along with the sequel. But you are correct that isn't the one I am looking for. Thanks for the help though.
