William Fic?

This one's been niggling at me for a while. I'm not sure if it's a time travel one, or a Buffy inside Spike's head one, but the bit I remember is she's in London with William (possibly as a companion to his mother, at least I think his mother has a companion anyway) and there's a fire in the house and William refuses to go in and save someone (I think it's his father who's a nasty piece of work, but can't be sure). They drive off to his country house in a carriage.

That's the only bit that's stuck and I haven't a clue where I read it. Hopefully someone here can help.

I remember reading this one, but I honestly can't remember the author or title. I think I read it on BSV, though, if that's any help at all.

It might be "Zephyr Ghosts" by Eurydice. It has the part where there is a fire and William saves his mother but doesn't go back in to save his father, who as you said, is "a nasty piece of work".

Thank you! I had actually posted a request to find this fic a few pages back but no one was able to find it for me. Your request got me looking again and I am so glad I was able to find it after all these months of searching for it.
