I am looking for a Spuffy fic I read a long time ago. First, Buffy and Spike work out some deal with the Council because the Watchers say they need them, either to stop a baddie or save the world. Spike and Buffy end up at a hotel, I'm pretty sure in England, while they're cooperating with the Watchers Council.

Spike has a fridge in his hotel room where he keeps blood bags, and doesn't realize the Council has covertly done something to his blood. They either added something to the blood or put a spell on it, but as Spike keeps feeding he is...altered. I'm pretty sure the point is so that, because he and Buffy start sleeping together, Spike is unknowingly able to get her pregnant. I can't remember if the Council did anything to push Buffy and Spike into sleeping together, besides getting them to work together and so be in close contact.

I might be mixing up this point with a bunch of other fics, but I *think* the Council wanted Buffy to get pregnant by Spike because of some prophecy, and didn't want to let them know in case they refused to cooperate.

If anyone recognizes this scene or fic, please tell me: it's been driving me crazy, and I don't have enough details to find this fic with a summary search. Thanks a lot!

I can think of one where the Council captures Spike and confines him and Buffy in the same small room until he gets her pregnant. It's by Kallysten, but I don't remember the title.

Thanks for replying, but that isn't the fic I'm looking for. In this fic, Spike and Buffy are not forcibly captured, but unaware as they stay at the hotel about Council scheming. It might be a later scene and the fic starts out with the Council drafting Buffy and Spike for help against some Big Bad.

Sounds to me like "The Ostara Project" by Kismet, only it's a crossover with La Femme Nikita and Spuffy are captured by Section One (not the Watchers Council). Even if I'm wrong, it's a good read and a personal favorite of mine.

This sounds super familiar. If it's the one I'm thinking of, they're not staying in a hotel, they're in a Council building, and Dawn and Willow have traveled to England with them. Maybe that will jog someone's memory? Now I wan to reread it, too!
