Hi looking for a fic that I can only remember the beginning of - it's an alternative ending of What's my line Part 2 where Buffy is the one who pulls Spike out of the wreckage. Angel may have turned into Angelus during the ceremony to restore Dru's powers and runs with Dru out of the Church but I might be confusing my stories!

There at least of couple of possibilities. Unfortunately, the Bloodshedverse isn't cooperating with me ATM, but there is a round-robin fic on there that begins with Angel turning into Angelus and Buffy and Spike together. That's all I remember of it, ATM, and I can't get you a title or a link until the verse decides to load for me. I know I've read at least one or two others, but I don't know where I read them. Probably at the BSV, but I wouldn't swear to it.

ok well the good news is that haven't read this fic before so happy for the rec. the bad news is that haven't read this fic before so it's not the one! it definately starts with Buffy pulling Spike out of the wreck there's possibley fire men involved who think because of Spike's lack of pulse that he's dead.

You are not imagining this - I just read it last week! But I can't remember which story it is. I'll keep thinking and get back to you if I figure it out.

I think if was you that asked about this story at the SR board. I didn't recognize the story from the summary first but I think the fic SMac found could be the one: To Help Thine Enemy by gerbnednav
Starts as a season 2 fic after Buffy makes a gut decision.

Buffy saves him but he wants to go back; it's mentioned that Spike got tortured and starvation by Angelus and Dru. When Buffy finds him again, she takes him back with her - again. So in this story Angelus and Dru are around; it's a WIP.


But I just read your comment with fire men. This story hasn't them.

I've read such a story but I can't remember the title. Could be a long one.
I thought first it was one of Tasha's but I'm not so sure any longer. Rereading them now.

Hi - still looking for this but thanks for your help. I'm pretty sure the fic starts with Buffy pulling spike out of the burning church - the scoobies either unaware or thinking her daft, but the firmen bit is sticking in my mind too. Beyond that, I rememeber nothing (!) and it's driving me nuts! To Help thine Enemy is one of my favourite fics - I clearly have a thing for Buffy rescuing Spike!

I'm reading Tasha's Revenge for love and Living For Love now because I wanted to check anyway but I jumped ahead and searched for 'fireman' because I know I've read something.

I don't know if that's the one but this is the one that I remembered / tried to remember.
The story itself starts with School Hard.
In a later chapter they are in a (burning) church and getting rescued by fireman, one (Levinson)that notices Spike's condition helps Giles put Buffy and Spike in Giles' car.

Sounds different to the one that you're looking for but sadly the one I remembered (for now).
