seeking_spikeNew to the LJ world, and this community in General, and have been absolutely blown away by all the amazing help provided by it's members. As someone with a love for Spuffy Fanfic, and a terrible memory to boot, this place has been a true godsend. I thought I'd try my luck on finding some stories I've been searching for (and hope I'm doing this post right and not stepping on anyone's toes!)
Here goes.
#1- Looking for a fic. Believe it to be semi-AU (As in Spike is a Vamp, but Buffy isn't the Slayer)
Spike is a statue displayed at a museum that Buffy visits. He is posed in great pain (having just witnessed the death of Drusilla at the hands of a mob if I'm not mistaken, before being turned to stone because of a spell? Not really sure on the how.) She begins to dream of him, and he (I believe he's semi-aware in statue form) of her. I remember specifically him sitting on a bed in an unfamiliar bedroom (at least to him) when Buffy enters. He awakens at the end, and comes to find her.. or she finds him.. again not 100% on that part. FOUND: Raison détre by Jackie Abbott . Thanks to cordykitten!
#2- No specific season- maybe vague illusions to Season 4-5, only a happier AU verse where Spike is a part of the Scoobies (or at least they don't hate him.) Joyce finds out that Spike's birthday is coming up and decides to throw him a suprise party, which the other Scoobies help plan. She has Buffy invite Spike over to their house under the impression that Joyce wants to talk to him or something.
I remember that Willow and Tara give him a present that turned out to be a stuffed Duckula or something along that line, and someone taking lots of pictures of him surrounded by wrappings and with cake on his face.
More specifically, I remember the punch at his party being of the liquor variety, and Spike getting majorly hammered (supposedly) and him and Willow have this ridiculous (but hilarious) conversation. Buffy, who managed to stay sober is assigned with the task of taking Spike home ( he lives in an apartment in this story) They end up stumbling through his door together, and Spike falls in her lap and is rubbing it and purring if I'm not mistakened. She tries to get him to go to bed (and this part I'm not 100% sure on) and he agrees only if she'll either sleep with him (in a non lovin' way) or kiss him. She humors him, thinking that he's drunk and agrees and it turns out he's completely sober and only pretended so she'd go home with him.
Loving comes next, along with words of love... and for some reason the fact that Buffy notices Spike has a tattoo of a sun on his chest stands out, but I might be pulling this outta nowhere. FOUND: A Vampire’s Birthday and a Schlayer’s Gift by Caro. Thanks to gooff32!
Gosh, with all this information I could probably write this story myself. Ugg.. I always feel so ridiculous being so overly descriptive. I take overkill to a whole knew level don't I? I guess I'm under the impression that the more descriptive, the better chance at being found.
The first one in particular I've been looking for forever, so any small crumb as to it's identity would be hugely appreciated.

Date: 2010-08-20 03:49 am (UTC)Just to clarify the #1- it does not take place during the Buffy series. It is an AU semi-human fic. Spike IS a vampire, but Buffy IS NOT the slayer, she's just a regular gal dreaming about this strange man/statue. Or at least that's the way I remember it.
Thanks for taking the time to post, despite it not being the story I was looking for, I appreciate it.

In the early 1900s, Spike is turned into a statue, sealing him away to become one of the most mysterious art pieces in the world. When fanatic vampires break Spike out of his stone stasis, he finds Buffy.
I saved the story and just read it recently so it's fresh in my memory.
Facts:
- Spike is a Vamp but Buffy is the Slayer (having slayer dreams of Spike)

Not the fact with the bed in an unfamiliar bedroom, that reminded me of a story by Holly.

I still had not luck with the birthday story.
