Giles/Ethan AU...together still, in S'dale

Another one that keeps getting away from me...the story of my life, ey.  Anyway, in this story Ripper and Ethan didn't split up when Giles went back home to begin his Watcher training.  They stayed together all the years and still when Giles came to Sunnydale to Watch Buffy.  Other than that, everything is pretty much as we saw onscreen.  Except Giles is a little less 'stuffy' and Ethan is not as wild.  Ethan is friends with Joyce, through her gallery I think, and visits her in the hospital when she's wounded by Darla's "barbecue fork."  In the last or next to the last part, Ethan is somehow whisked back to our true canon 'verse.  He doesn't realize this until he comes to the library and his lover beats him up and ties him to a chair wanting to know why he is back in town.  Giles thinks his confusion is fake until THAT Ethan shows up to explain things and help the visiting Ethan get back to his actual body, which is lying unconscious in a hospital bed, with his Ripper by his side.
