[identity profile] claritylit.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] seeking_spike
Everyone was so helpful last time I posted, and I hope someone can help me again. I'm looking for three fics, all Spuffy.

1. It's a season 6 rewrite. The thing I remember most is the author's note, which is quite long, where she says the wrecked house from Smashed should have been a metaphor for Buffy breaking free of her old life and being reborn (mixed metaphors are mine!). The one thing I remember from the story itself is Buffy coming back to the house during the day and bringing Spike a thermos of blood.

2. This is a post-Chosen fic. Spike has closed the Hellmouth, but somehow escapes with Buffy. They go to a hotel to regroup, I think. The main thing is that Spike has lost his soul and Buffy doesn't realize it. Dawn figures it out when Spike is now able to look her in the eye without guilt. I think that Spike isn't sure if he wants his soul back or not.

3. I read this one years ago. All the Scoobies and Spike are personifications of certain attributes, who occasionally come to Earth to live out human lives. But their unity is messed up when William is vamped and doesn't return with them. So they have to come back and keep looking for him. I specifically remember that Buffy was "Strong" but can't remember what anyone else was.

I'd appreciate any help, especially on the last one, because it's been bugging me for a couple years at least!

I'm almost positive the first one is "Collide" (http://www.freewebs.com/enigmaticblue/collide1.htm) by [livejournal.com profile] enigmatic_blue.

The second is very familiar, but I'm not recalling it right off... I'll see if I can hunt it down.

The third isn't familiar at all, but I'm hoping someone out there has a link because I'd love to read it!

Clarity, if you haven't read it yet, check out Jennifer Crusie's essay on Spuffy in the book "Seven Seasons of Buffy." Her whole essay deals with the Spuffy relationship and she details how she feels the writers missed a great storytelling opportunity with the "falling house" metaphor. I'm going to have to go read it again and then read Collide--sounds like two great tastes that would taste great together. Uh oh, now I want a Reese's cup :-)

Jennifer Crusie the author? I love her!

Is there a link to it somewhere?

When I saw Scarlett's remark, I logged-on to my library's web page and requested the book. They had it in the system. Bet yours does too, sweetie.

I believe the second one is Come Undone by Lady Wenham:
