Ethan and Ripper still together in Sunnydale

I'm still hoping to find the series of stories that follow the shows canon with the change that Ripper and Ethan remained lovers when Giles went back to his family to become a Watcher.  They're still together when he comes to Sunnydale.  I remember Joyce and Ethan becoming friends when he visits her gallery.
