Two more elusive Spuffy fics

Just two brief snippets to work on here:

1 - Xander is working with a couple of other men to strip out a house before demolition, and I think the men have been stealing various bits from the house. Something nasty is found in a shed or outbuilding and Xander calls on Spike and Buffy to help.

2 - Buffy and Spike are together and there is a bad guy (who might be killing/molesting children). Bad guy lives in a big house (somehow Spike gets in) filled with pictures and artworks. I think Buffy leaves Spike to deal with the bad guy.

Hope someone can help with finding these. I don't think the snippets are related, but you never know with my memory.

I think I may know this one... and, in fact, I think it might actually be the same story.

It's not exactly the same as what you described, but the similarities are enough that it might be what you're looking for: Chiaroscuro (http://home.mchsi.com/~missmurchison/Chiaroscuro_Chapters.htm) by missmurchison. In particular, chapter 7 (http://home.mchsi.com/~missmurchison/adjustments.htm) contains things that fit both, with some minor differences.

In this case, Xander is working with a group of men to strip out a house before demolition, but Spike is working there with him... and it's Spike who realizes there's something nasty in the shed (it also has one of the men having been stealing the old toilets to sell on the black market). And the nasty thing is what leads Spike to the bad guy whose house is filled with artwork and sculptures depicting violence toward women.

Obviously, it's part of a much larger story... and it's definitely worth reading the whole thing!

Thank you! I checked Chiaroscuro before posting this request, as I had a funny feeling at the back of my mind that it was that fic, but obviously I didn't flick through the right parts. I'm so glad both snippets were from the same fic too.

Definitely worth a re-read now that I'm back in a fic reading mood, this is one of my all time favourite fics.

Hmmm, the child molesting/killing part puts me in mind of "None Other Than You" by nonothrthnme (recently changed name) which has a creepy house, but those are the only similarities, and it has almost no Xander.

I'm gonna check out Chiaroscuro, 'cos Miss Murchison is awesome!

I've just re-read None Other Than You, and have even read the first two chapters of the sequel (I'm not usually one to read wips but couldn't resist having finished NOTY).

fenchurche came up trumps with this one, both bits are from Chiaroscuro, and I'm going to have myself another enjoyable re-read. It's definitely worth checking out.
