Due to some magical interference — perhaps a vengeance wish — Buffy finds herself in a world where the Initiative won. She hooks up with the putative Resistance, who are literally hiding underground in a warren of little rooms. The humans and demons have had to find a way to cooperate, sometimes in a blood for protection arrangement. She finds Joyce still alive and shacked up with Fyarl!Giles, I think.

As usual, title and author unknown. It might or might not be Spuffy. So far, I've only been able to find things that it's not, like cousinjean's "Perfect World", and icemink's "Possession". It's also not Anna S's "Season Noir". Do any of you know what it is?

That sounds a lot like my Beg the Liquid Red. Where she finds the room the Immortal has with all the stolen moments from her life and ends up in a coma that thrusts her into an alternate world where they never let Spike in at Thanksgiving. Is that what you're thinking of?

Glad I could help! It was the bit about Joyce living with Fyarl!Giles that made me think it might be mine. :)

That's definitely Eurydice's Beg the Liquid Red, and I know you've already gotten that answer, but have you seen In Enemy Hearts by KittenOfDoomage (http://dark-solace.org/elysian/viewstory.php?sid=3672)? It was recently completed over on Elysian Fields and, while I have yet to finish reading the whole thing, the beginning is written fairly well and the blurb reminded me of Beg. It is:

"AU from Primeval: As Buffy faces off with Adam, the spell is performed but the demons break through. Buffy gets distracted and tries to save her friends, but fails. Spike gets her out and they battle their way out of the Initiative. Adam assembles his army and the world is doomed…or so it seems."

It is for registered readers only and I have forgotten my password. I never get these restrictions.

Does FF.net do the same thing? (I honestly don't know, I don't read fic there very often) A quick google search shows it's there as well: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5742691/1/In-Enemy-Hearts

Hi lynnalso,

I'm Susan, one of the EF mods.

The restrictions are really just a cya measure so that we're making it clear that the blocked content is not for minors. You'd be surprised how many people under 18 we get wandering over even though the show has been off the air over 10 years. Obviously, if someone wants the content, no matter their age, they can register, but we feel it's best to at least make a hoop or 2 to jump through to try and prevent it.

If you've forgotten your password, you can use the lost password (http://dark-solace.org/elysian/user.php?action=lostpassword) feature or email me at ssolace(at)gmail.com for help.

Thanks :)
