I'm looking for a fic i read ages ago.

Spike is approached by Willow in college to look out for her friend Buffy who she thinks is be physically abused by Parker. With the help of his friends ie Angel, Gunn they break through the barrier

The only difference from your description is that the abuser is Parker, not Riley. Hope this helps!
