Time travel stories

I have a weakness for time travel stories, the kind where late-season folks, intentionally or unintentionally, end up back in an early season. However, there are a couple of WIPs in this genre that I've lost track of.

The first request is easier -- it was a reasonably long series, in which both Spike and Buffy had both been sent back and were working together. I think they were trying to avert the First from ever coming forward, but I'm not sure about that. The first book in the series had been finished and supposedly resolved, and the second introduced new ramifications of some sort, but that was where I left off. I think that one of the stories was called "Step Back" or "Step Forward", or something like that. I don't remember whether it was Spuffy or just gen-dealing-with-canon-Spuffy-repercussions. I do remember that the rest of the Scoobies were somehow more involved in the time travel bit than they usually are in these sorts of stories.

The second -- oh, dear. I feel rather like that annoying bookstore customer who asks for "that one with the red cover". It was a 6th or 7th season Spike, I think souled, who'd been sent back. I think it was 4th season, though it might have been 2nd -- I'm afraid I've read so many of these stories, the details all blur together. In fact, it's quite possible that there are both 2nd and 4th season WIPs that I've lost track of. I have vague memories of Spike still having the Gem of Amara and wearing it on his toe, and of Buffy and Willow thinking Spike was courting Joyce. But I'm not sure if those details were from the stor(ies) I didn't finish or from others that I did. I know that's not very helpful. *wry smile*

Any clues would be muchly appreciated.

ooh, I think I might know the second one! Is it Second Time Around (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=asscerbic&keyword=Second+Time+Around&filter=all), bu asscerbic? She's such a witty writer!

It also might be Here is Gone (http://dark-solace.org/elysian/viewstory.php?sid=1063), by Terri Botta though that's season 5. Still one of my all time favorites!

For the 1st one, try authoressnebula's journal. She has a series that sounds like it might be the one, and one of the is called Back Track, while I think the other is called Step Forward or Stepping Forward.

Just double checked. Book 1 is Back Track, Book 2 is Step Forward, and now there is a 3rd book that is a WIP called Hold On. And the Scoobies (some of them anyway) were definitely more involved this time around than they usually are in these fics.

Nebula also has a fic journal - nebulas_fic. Finding the stories might be easier there, if you haven't found them, yet. But given the date of this post I think the fics have already been found :)

Thanks, everyone! Yes, Nebula's series is the first one I was thinking of. Still not sure of the second, those are all authors I'm familiar with but don't follow closely, but I'll enjoy re/rereading them to find out!

Second might be Pandoras Boxer, where Spike with a soul is sent back to the start of season 4. It's archived at Elysian Fields.
